March 11 Site Visitors...

Thanks everyone for dropping by my EV Information Supersite! You are amongst a wide variety of people that drop by each day for information, and as you can see, many countries from around the world are represented here. Today with the wind chill it is about -25C outside! To me, this represents a pretty fair test of an electric vehicle's foul weather capabilities. I have been driving this Saturn EV daily for almost two years now and this is the second Canadian winter that it has gone through. We are about a week and a half away from the official start of spring, but you wouldn't know that by walking outside today...
It is supposed to go above freezing over the next few days as a warm, dry wind known as a "Chinook" blows into town bringing us some much needed relief. I'll be doing some spring maintenance on the Saturn as soon as I get some warmer weather. Energy, oil, war, the economy and the environment are on everyone's mind these days as we move on into Spring 2003. In some ways, all of this pain has acted as a catalyst to action on the environmental front, and great strides are being made in the area of transportation and motive technologies. Some times, people just need to be prodded to start solving problems.

Welcome Norway

Focus on Norway: March 2003 Calgary, Alberta Canada
Lately, a lot of the visitors to this website have been dropping by from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. I would just like to say: "Welcome to my personal EV conversion site and I hope that you find the information presented here useful in some way.".
For those of you that don't know, Norway is best known as the birthplace of the Th!nk EV, an amazing watershed in the history of electric vehicles. I won't go into the history of that particular vehicle right now, but let's just say for the record that it represented a milestone in the evolution of EV design! There is a great deal of interest and research into electric vehicles in this region, and in the spirit of reciprocal links I would just like to direct your attention to this wonderful Scandinavian EV Site with plenty of links.
I have just been informed by the author of this site (Knut Abrahamsen; a Norwegian living in Stockholm) about the mix of languages on the site and the reasons for that:

Hello again Ken, I try to keep about 50/50 of the languages Norwegian and Swedish on my site,
so as to give people the feeling of a Scandinavian site. The written Norwegian and Danish are
very similar, and many Finns read Swedish. As you can see on www.evguide.nu/langkj.html we have
long distance EV-drivers in all of the 4 countries :-) JORDEN RUNT means around the Earth distance (about 40.000 km)

Again, thanks for visiting and please pass on the the web site URL for others to enjoy or to learn from. Send me a note via e-mail at ken.norwick@shaw.ca or at: ken.norwick@shaw.ca and let me know that you have enjoyed the site.
